Neglect

My oh my, the posts have dried up, haven't they? It's not because nothing is going on around here. Au contraire--there are many Big, Important Developments brewing. I just don't feel comfortable announcing them online just yet. Hopefully everything will come out next week.

In the meantime, here are a few quick updates:

The Big Boy Bed: Purchased, assembled, and now happily occupied by the Big Boy. And some nights, Mommy as well. Henry is sleeping better in the bed than he did in the crib, and he seems to like it quite a bit, but he still wakes up between 3-5 a.m. most mornings and can't get back to sleep on his own. So I go in for a cuddle. Sometimes it just takes a minute or two to get him back to sleep, and I leave. Other times it takes longer, and i fall asleep in the process. But it's still an improvement on what we were dealing with before.

(Aside) Last night Henry woke up just after midnight and couldn't stop crying. I guess he had a bad dream. As I lay there trying to calm him down, he blurted out, half asleep but very upset, "Edward IS NOT the fastest! He's NOT!!!" So I guess his bad dream involved an argument about the relative merits of the different "Thomas and Friends" trains. Interesting.

The Potty Training: Delayed by the introduction of the Big Boy Bed. We may begin next week. We'll see.

The Weather: MUCH colder. We may get to skate on the Canal yet. Provided, of course, that I agree to go outside when it's so frickin' cold!
